As a lifestyle photographer, I strive to create memories that aren't your typical studio photographs. I want to get to the heart and soul of what makes you tick. And, I want us all to have fun at the same time. Whit & Whimsy is about life, love, and capturing the moments in life.

What is A lifestyle Session? / WHAT WILL MY SESSION BE LIKE?

I love being part of people’s happiness and the bits of life they want to remember and cherish forever and to do that I believe in capturing real life. For me, lifestyle photography is about photographing the normal.  No stuffy poses or studios, and no fancy lights and crazy gear. Just me, you, some natural light and a camera. I encourage you to pick a place or activity that you'd like to keep you moving and interacting in a fun way. We'll hang out, laugh a lot, and twirl a time or two. I plan for one to two hours per shoot. I'll capture some posed shots and lots of in-between shots. Someone might have a giggling fit or a meltdown (it could be your child, it could be someone else). I'll capture that too and they might just be your favorites!

What about your wee ones?

I love photographing whole families. From songs, to stories, to dancing through a field, I keep a small bag of tricks up my sleeve to help with any occasion. No matter how hard we try, kids are full of wiggles and giggles so I do my best to keep your family moving around throughout the session. I encourage breaks and snacks. I also work with you to schedule a time that works best with nap time and eating...cause no one wants to take a picture when they are sleepy and hungry. Everyone's quirks will shine through and make your session so uniquely you.

Do You Travel?

Yes! I’d love to travel to your destination and my suitcase is practically packed and ready to go! For locations in the Mid-Atlantic area I will only request an additional small fee if an overnight stay is needed, for locations beyond that there will be an additional fee/reimbursement for airfare/gas and hotel accommodations.

WHEN will i get MY IMAGES/How Many Should I expect? 

Two to three weeks after family session, you'll receive a password protected online gallery where you can view your images! From there, you can download your gallery and purchase prints directly from through the online gallery. For weddings, please allow six to eight weeks to receive your gallery.  

For most weddings, I deliver between 500-850 photos. For portrait sessions you can expect between 75-125.
